Greater Napanee Council has approved a new veteran’s memorial crosswalk. A staff report during last nights meeting recommended approving the project, with installation costs covered by community group Greater Napanee Connect.
The crosswalk will run east to west across John Street, near the Royal Canadian Legion. Public Works staff reviewed the location and raised no concerns. The design was chosen by the Legion.
The idea was presented to council by Tiffany Lloyd of Greater Napanee Connect. The group recently hosted a fire truck pull fundraiser in May to support the project.
A timeline for the painting has not yet been released. But Councillor Bob Norrie shared the legion is planning an unveiling once it is completed. More details to come!
