A Tyendinaga resident is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic complaint in Quinte West, says OPP.
On Sunday, July 20, 2025, at about 12:15 a.m., police said after following up on a traffic complaint in the County Road 40 area, they suspected a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the station for further testing, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 55-year-old Tyendinaga resident was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus.)
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Belleville court on Aug. 7, said police.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Police continue to ask citizens to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
