Tyendinaga Township is getting new electric vehicle charging stations. Council approved a licensing agreement with Jule to install Level 3 fast chargers at three municipal locations: the recreation complex’s north parking lot, the recreation hall, and the public library.
At least one charging station is expected to be fully installed and working by fall 2025. The project will be rolled out in phases.
The agreement runs for an initial five-year term, with the option to renew for two more five-year periods. Jule will pay the township $100 per month for each parking space used by the chargers.
Township officials say this move supports greener transportation and gives drivers more local charging options. The partnership helps position Tyendinaga to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles across Ontario.
