Peterborough Musicfest is turning up the volume tomorrow night as Canadian punk rock veterans Gob make their long-awaited debut on the Fred Anderson Stage at Del Crary Park.
Known for hits like I Hear You Calling and No Regrets, the Vancouver-based band rose to national fame in the early 2000s with high-energy live shows and a string of charting singles. Musicfest’s Raff Melito says tomorrow’s performance will bring a wave of nostalgia for many fans—similar to what Sloan delivered earlier this week.
Gob’s breakthrough came when their music was featured in a wildly popular video game, giving them exposure well beyond Canadian radio. Melito says that moment helped catapult the band to a new level of recognition.
And for those who think one of the faces on stage looks familiar, you’re not wrong. As Melito explains, one of Gob’s members has another claim to fame.
The concert, being presented by Freq 90.5, gets underway at 8pm.
