Two teens are facing charges following an incident near the train bridge at George and Dalhousie Streets in Peterborough.
Police say around 10:30pm Wednesday, bike patrol officers spotted a teenage girl wanted in connection with a June theft. When they attempted to arrest her, she began yelling and resisting, drawing the attention of a teenage boy who tried to intervene by swinging at one of the officers before fleeing. He was later located and arrested by other officers.
At the police station, the girl allegedly kicked a Special Constable.
A 15-year-old female is charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, assault with intent to resist arrest, causing a disturbance, and theft under $5,000, while a 15-year-old male is charged with assault with intent to resist arrest and breaching a recognizance.
Both were released on undertakings and are due in court August 25.
