Some of Ontario’s best young softball players are heading to Greater Napanee for the Provincial Women’s Softball Association’s U15 II Qualifier from July 18 to 20.
The Napanee Express will serve as the host team, welcoming 12 other teams from across eastern Ontario, including Amherstview, Peterborough, Whitby, Oshawa, and more. Games will take place at the Napanee Fairgrounds and North Fredericksburgh, starting Friday at 3 p.m. Napanee plays their first game at 5 p.m. against Oshawa.
The double knockout tournament will determine seeding for the Grand Championships in Windsor, August 8 to 10. The top four teams will play in the ‘A’ bracket, with the remaining teams placed into ‘B’ and ‘C’.
This event is free to attend and aims to promote the growth of women’s sports in the region. Coach Craig Hollingsworth says it’s a great chance for locals to support the team and see top-level youth softball in action.
