The Jr A Lakers have taken a 2-0 lead in their best-of-five playoff series with the Six Nations Arrows after a 10-7 win last night. Captain Nick Roode led the way offensively with four goals and three assists, while Waukiigan Shognosh was a force in goal, stopping 58 shots and adding three assists of his own. Game three goes tomorrow in Six Nations. If needed, the series will return to Peterborough for game four on Friday.
There will be some local ties behind the bench at the upcoming U17 World Hockey Challenge in Truro, Nova Scotia. Team Canada White has announced its coaching staff, with Petes video coach Alex Darling and former captain Scott Barney both earning roles. Darling will serve as video coach, while Barney takes over as head coach.
And on the rugby pitch, the Peterborough Pagans U18 boys will be in action tonight when they host the Ajax Wanderers. Kickoff is set for 7:30 at Nicholls Oval.
