Here is your local sports report for Tuesday, July 15.
The Jr A Lakers are back on home floor tonight when they host the Six Nations Arrows in game two of their best of five playoff series. The Lakers won the opener on Sunday in a thrilling 6-5 overtime game in Six Nations.
Goaltender Waukiigan Shognosh has been outstanding for the Lakers this season, including a 46 save performance in game one. Tonight’s action will get underway at 8pm from the PMC.
Peterborough native and former Pete Chase Stillman is headed to the West Coast. The 22-year-old forward has been traded to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for goaltender Arturs Silovs.
Although Stillman is still waiting for the opportunity to play in his first NHL game, he got into 65 AHL games last year, playing for both Utica and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording four goals and 12 points.
On the ball diamond tonight, the Peterborough U9 Tier 1 Tigers will host Quinte at East City Bowl. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm.
And Kawartha Lacrosse’s JEWL team remains all smiles today after their bronze medal win at the provincials.
