Growing Up on the Farm, a look into local agriculture, presented by KUBOTA. We are profiling Enright Cattle Company.
This fourth-generation farm family near Tweed is showing how local agriculture is thriving, with help from the next generation. Kara and Daryl Enright run Enright Cattle Company, a beef farm that sells directly to families, butcher shops, and restaurants from Toronto to Ottawa. They also operate Wilson’s Organic Blueberries, a pick-your-own farm, that is now open for the season!
Their children are also getting in on the action. Corbin, 16, runs his own pasture-raised chicken business called Corbin’s Rooster Ranch. His 11-year-old sister Evelyn sells eggs from her own flock under the name Evelyn’s Eggs.
Kara says farming has changed a lot since she was a child. New technology now helps them track manure, use GPS planting, and farm more efficiently. The family’s goal is to keep growing sustainably so the farm is strong if their kids choose to carry it on.
