A report of a man running through Picton allegedly “wielding a knife at members of the public” has led to charges, says Prince Edward County OPP.
Police said their investigation started on Friday, July 11, 2025, at about 5:30 p.m., when officers responded to the report.
Officers promptly located the individual and made an arrest, reported OPP, adding that as a result, no one was injured.
As a result of the investigation, police said Paul Johnson, 35, of Picton, was charged with assault with a weapon, assault with intent to resist arrest, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a prohibited device.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
