Stone Mills Council met July 7 to tackle a full agenda of community updates and decisions.
A delegation from Tracy Asselstine raised concerns about the proposed Enterprise Solar Energy Project, referencing a 2019 committee and staff report. Council clarified that no formal proposal has yet been made.
Council approved a joint Request for Proposal with the County of Lennox and Addington for Integrity Commissioner services.
Ahead of the 2026 municipal election, Council chose a hybrid voting method—paper ballots and electronic options.
The Ottawa Valley Power Boat Club was granted conditional approval for its July 18–20 event at Beaver Lake Park, and the Tamworth Lions Club Fish Fry was approved for August 17.
The Flynn Bridge replacement will move forward with an 80-foot “Bridge in a Box,” raising the project cost to $492,870.25.
Council also approved extra funding for flat roof repairs at the Stone Mills Recreation Centre.
A noise by-law exemption was granted to GIP Paving Inc. for culvert work on County Road 4.
Finally, Council approved the second annual Canine Watersports event on July 27 at Hollow Square Market, with staff processing permit approvals.
Council will revisit budget-related items later in the year.
