The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation is pulling out all the stops with an exciting addition to this year’s John Smylie Memorial Golf Classic.
The foundation already announced a special “helicopter golf ball drop raffle” for the fundraising event earlier this year.
Now, in addition to a chance to win $5,000, a chance at a scenic helicopter for two over the breathtaking 1000 Islands is up for grabs, says the foundation.
How does it work? Well, anyone who buys a ticket before noon on Friday, July 25 will also be entered for a chance to win the bonus early bird 10-minute helicopter experience for two, thanks to a 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours donation, the foundation has announced. The lucky winner(s) will get to soar over the St. Lawrence River, Gananoque, Ivy Lea Bridge, and private island homes.
As previously reported, the tourney is a fundraiser for the “Emerge Stronger” campaign, which is also supporting the emergency department expansion at TMH. Simply put, all proceeds are supporting healthcare for Trentonians, Brightonians, and surrounding residents.
During this summer’s tourney – on Aug. 8 – a helicopter is set to drop 2,000 numbered golf balls onto the grounds of Oak Hills Golf Club in Stirling. The ball landing closest to the target wins $5,000.
The helicopter drop is being sponsored by Team Guernsey and 1000 Islands Helicopter Tours.
Tickets are $20 each or eight for $100. One ticket represents one numbered golf ball. The foundation notes that no golf skills are needed to take part in this portion of the event – and folks don’t need to present either for the drop to win.
People can purchase tickets by sending an e-transfer to info@tmhfoundation.com with their name, phone number, and email. TMHF will reply with your golf ball number(s). Alternatively, people can call the foundation at 613-392-2540 ext. 5401 to pay by card or visit the TMHF office, located on the second floor of TMH from Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The foundation says every ticket supports local care and choosing e-transfer allows more of your donation to go directly towards essential medical equipment and services.
