Police are calling on the public for help after an alleged serious assault in Campbellford.
Northumberland OPP said on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at about 3:20 p.m., police responded to an EMS report about an assault that had occurred at a multiple occupancy residence on Front Street South.
An altercation is believed to have occurred between two individuals at the property in the early hours of the same day between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., said police, on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
As a result of the altercation, police said the victim sustained serious injuries and was sent to hospital.
“The suspect is known to the victim and was not present upon the arrival of emergency services.”
The scene was initially held for OPP’s forensic identification services (IDENT) personnel to attend and assist with the investigation.
The investigation is continuing with help from Northumberland OPP’s crime unit. On Thursday, police issued a call for the public’s help in locating the suspect in connection to the alleged assault.
Anyone who was in the area and/or who has information is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Police provided a reference number of E250905219.
Police are also reminding residents that Crime Stoppers is an anonymous option – people can submit tips online or by calling 1-800-222-8477. Tipsters through Crime Stoppers do not have to testify in court and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
No other details were released by police.
