Quinte West has a new CAO with the appointment of Chris Angelo.
The appointment was effective July 8 following what the city described as a competitive recruitment process.
Angelo previously served as the city’s director of public works and environmental services, and more recently, as interim CAO.
“On behalf of Quinte West council, I’m pleased to welcome Chris Angelo as the city’s new chief administrative officer,” said Mayor Jim Harrison. “Chris brings a wealth of experience, leadership and deep knowledge of our community.
“His commitment to serving Quinte West and his strong understanding of both the organization and the needs of our residents make him an excellent choice for this role.”
According to the city, Angelo brings more than 30 years’ experience to the role. In a recent release, it states Angelo has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Carleton University, and a diploma in civil engineering technology from Loyalist College and has served on boards with the Good Roads Association, Community Living Quinte West, and Quinte Transit.
In the CAO role, Angelo will be tasked with leading the city’s senior management team, ensuring efficient delivery of programs and services, helping to shape Quinte West’s future while working with council on strategic priorities, and more.
The release also states that earlier this month that Harrison delegated strong mayor powers to hire a new CAO to council, and Angelo’s appointment follows council direction at a special council meeting on July 4, 2025.
“It is a tremendous honour to step into the role of chief administrative officer for the City of Quinte West – the community I’m proud to call home and where I’ve had the privilege of raising my family,” said Angelo. “Having served this community for more than three decades, I’ve seen firsthand the strong sense of pride, dedication and connection that makes Quinte West such a great place to live and work.
“I look forward to working closely with Mayor Harrison, council, the city’s senior leadership team, city staff and the community to continue delivering high-quality services and advancing the priorities that matter most to our community.”
