The Town of Greater Napanee is asking for public input on how well its homeless encampment response is working. As we previously reported, the proposed community survey will run this summer, gathering feedback from residents on the effectiveness, clarity, and fairness of the current protocol.
Town Clerk Jessica Walters presented the plan to Council, noting that the Town promised a full review after one season of use. Council approved the survey at its July 8 meeting. A more detailed report is expected in August.
Residents will be asked to share their experiences, evaluate the protocol’s impact, and suggest improvements.
Councillors also praised the visibility of full-time bylaw officers, who are regularly speaking with residents downtown and in parks.
The Town hopes the survey will help guide updates to the bylaw and ensure it meets the needs of both housed and unhoused residents.
You can share your input by completing the survey on Let’s Talk Greater Napanee. The survey will close August 6, 2025.
