Lennox & Addington County Warden Nathan Townend has joined more than 325 mayors and local leaders in the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative. The group works across Canada and the U.S. to protect lakes and rivers, improve water systems, fight climate change, and support local economic growth.
Townend says Lennox & Addington is proud to be part of the coalition and stressed the need for teamwork to protect shared water resources.
The Cities Initiative says new members like L&A reflect the growing importance of clean water, climate resilience, and strong local economies. The group helps members modernize aging water infrastructure, protect freshwater sources, and build sustainable communities that attract jobs and industry.
