A mid-June traffic blitz by Peterborough Police has resulted in several charges after officers targeted drivers in a neighbourhood near Lily Lake Road and York Drive.
The Peterborough Police Service Traffic Unit issued nine tickets for failing to stop at stop signs, along with additional charges for careless driving, faulty brake lights, an insecure load, no muffler, and improper emissions equipment.
Police say the enforcement serves as a reminder to drivers to obey stop signs in residential areas and to come to a full stop before proceeding.
The blitz is part of an ongoing effort to promote road safety and reduce risk in neighbourhoods where pedestrian and cyclist activity is common.
