An early morning RIDE program in Prince Edward County led to drug trafficking charges after a vehicle stop on Highway 62.
Around 3:00 a.m. on July 1, 2025, Ontario Provincial Police officers were running the program at County Road 3 when a driver entered the checkpoint. Officers began an investigation and discovered a quantity of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.
Police arrested 56-year-old Yvan Leclair of Tyendinaga and charged him with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Leclair was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
