Five Counties Children’s Centre served a record number of children and youths over the past year, but as of March 31st, there remained 2,186 clients on its waiting list for services.
At the its recent annual AGM, it was revealed that 6,208 clients were served in 2024-25, with client visits numbering close to 55,400. In addition, while the waiting list remains substantial, it has seen a 15.3 percent reduction over the past three years.
Five Counties CEO Scott Pepin is delighted with those numbers, but quickly adds one child waiting for care is one child too many.
As for fundraising for its programs and services, Five Counties surpassed $2.1 million over the past year, which well eclipsed the previous year’s result of $1.2 million.
Pepin notes yet more good news came this week in the form of a grant from the province to help kids diagnosed with autism.
