The summer season will herald the return of several beloved outdoor events, the popular Lakefield, Jazz, Art and Craft Festival among them.
Started in 1999, the festival is a calendar highlight for many, evidence by the 1,500 or so who flocked to Isabel Morris Park last summer for the sponsor-supported event. Many of them will no doubt return July 12th when the 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. festival again rolls out.
Festival co-chair Al Grant has been involved for a number years as a member of the organizing committee. He says keeping things simple has been key to the festival’s enduring success.
This year’s lineup features six music acts, with harmonica master Carlos de Junco, fronting The Blue Mongrels, closing out things just after 8 p.m.
Grant says the festival introduces visitors to all that Lakefield has to offer.
Admission to the festival is $10. For more information, including the full stage lineup, visit https://www.selwyntownship.ca/en/discover-our-township/Lakefield-Jazz-Festival.aspx.
