Shaftesbury Murdoch XIX Inc. is bringing Murdoch Mysteries to Port Hope next week for a day of filming, with noticeable activity in the downtown core starting Canada Day.
On Tuesday, July 1, film crews will begin set dressing select storefronts along John Street. Some street parking will be used, but filming will not interfere with Canada Day programming.
Main filming will take place Wednesday, July 2, along Brewery Lane and John Street. Expect intermittent traffic and pedestrian control on John Street between Walton and Augusta from 7:00 to 9:15 a.m. and again from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. A full road closure is planned from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. to accommodate filming at Hotel Carlyle.
Parking restrictions will be in effect, including all spaces on the west side of John Street, the 74 Queen Street lot, and the overflow parking area at 95 Mill Street South. Limited access is also expected on Brewery Lane from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Tear-down will continue on July 3 with some remaining parking impacts. Nearby residents and businesses have already received notice.
