The annual Ranney Gorge Run is back on May 4, offering runners and walkers a chance to support Campbellford Memorial Hospital while crossing the scenic Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge.
Presented by Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company, the event features a 10.55K, 5K, and a 1K Fun Run for kids. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favourite Star Wars characters to celebrate the date-often called “Star Wars Day” for the pun “May the 4th be with you.”
Last year, nearly 400 participants raised over $39,000, bringing the event’s total fundraising to more than $151,000 since its launch in 2018. Funds support patient care and new life-saving equipment for Campbellford Memorial Hospital.
“This event is a great way to kick off spring and support local health care,” said CMH Foundation Executive Director John Russell. “The route is stunning, especially the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge.”
Participants who raise $150 or more in pledges will receive a refund on their registration fee. Thanks to the Municipality of Trent Hills, registrants also get free access to the Hastings Field House walking track until race day.
Early bird registration for the 10.55K and 5K is $40 until March 24, increasing to $50 after. The 1K Fun Run remains $10. Registration includes a medal, t-shirt (for 10.55K and 5K participants), refreshments, and a free lunch.
