According to Cobourg police a 55-year-old Cobourg man is facing several charges, including assault with a weapon, after a disturbance early Wednesday morning in downtown Cobourg.
At approximately 1:52 a.m. on October 23, 2024, police say they were called to the scene following a report that the accused had threatened the victim with a taser. According to the victim, the man made verbal threats and then produced and activated the taser, indicating he intended to use it.
Cobourg police say they’ve charged him with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon, and uttering threats.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
