Port Hope is set to host Reaper’s Image Productions once again for the filming of HBO Max’s prequel to the It movies that goes by the shooting title of “Greetings from Fairview” on June 21, 2024.
Filming will take place at two key locations: the municipal Development Team Office at 5 Mill Street South and a private residence on Bruton Street. To prepare for filming, set dressing on Mill Street South will occur on June 19 and 20, with takedown scheduled for June 24 and 25. During these times, the production team will temporarily occupy sidewalks on Mill Street, maintaining a 1.2-metre clearance whenever possible.
On June 21, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., intermittent traffic control will be in effect around the Mill Street area, specifically from the Walton Street intersection to just past Captain George’s Fish and Chips. Traffic holds will be limited to 3 minutes or less. The Development Team Office will be closed for the day, but staff will continue to provide services remotely.
On Bruton Street, from Bramley to Julia Streets, the road will be closed from 7 a.m. on June 21 to 1 a.m. on June 22. The section from Julia to Pine Street North will be reduced to one lane with traffic control in place. Filming may involve bright lights and fog effects during night scenes. All effected residents have been notified, and everyone is encouraged to avoid disrupting the filming process.
