Join the fun at the annual Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny event!
Hosted by the Municipality of Port Hope and the Float Your Fanny Committee, this year’s event on April 13th, promises excitement and adventure.
Due to the Sylvan Glen Bridge construction, the Crazy Craft category is modified, but fear not!
“We are excited to welcome everyone back into Fannyville and can’t wait to see the courageous participants on the water this April,” notes Barry Adamson and Barrileigh Price event Co-Chairs. “Although we too will miss the Crazy Crafts this year, we are proud to maintain event delivery to keep the Float Your Fanny tradition going. We are calling on the public to get their canoes, floaties and costumes ready so we can all have some fun! Preparation is key to a great day – we appreciate everyone who comes out with Ganny spirit.”
Try the new Inflatable category for a bite-sized adventure from Optimist Park.
Dive into the race with inflatable tubes, air mattresses, or giant unicorns.
You can now register as a participant for Float Your Fanny on the event’s website: Registration – Float Your Fanny.
Make sure to carefully read all registration details to ensure a smooth launch and safe journey on the Ganaraska River’s swift and chilly waters.

The event plan has been reviewed in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans to uphold policies ensuring the safety and sustainability of fish and wildlife habitats in the river.
As always, the Municipality of Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services, along with community emergency partners, are actively involved in safety planning and will be on-site during the event. Participants and spectators must follow protocols and respect each other along the riverbank. Community health and safety are the organizers’ and the Municipality’s top priorities.
While the event is set for April 13, river conditions will be monitored leading up to the day. If necessary, the event may be rescheduled for April 20, 2024.
