Ontario’s Move Over Law is not a suggestion and it could just save a life
With another busy weekend on the roads ahead, the Ontario Provincial Police are reminding drivers to pay attention to what’s happening all around them, especially at the roadside.
It is required by law that you slow down (and move over a lane whenever possible) approaching emergency vehicles with their emergency lights are activated.
Some drivers still haven’t got the message – even though the law has been in place for nearly 20 years.
So far this year the OPP has laid more than 600 charges which carries up to a 2-thousand dollar fine and 3 demerit points.
