As Canada Day is a federal statutory holiday, all government offices and services and liquor stores are closed, with a few beer stores open in selected locations.
Beer Store in Cobourg will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Metro will be open from 8 a.m.to 6 p.m.
Walmart will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. as normal.
Shoppers Drug Marts in Cobourg and Port Hope will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Port Hope Transit will not operate on Saturday BUT Cobourg Transit will operate with a
regular with Saturday schedule
Garbage pickup moved to the next day… Monday on Tuesday….
As with any holiday, it’s always best to call before you set out to confirm locations are open. The Cobourg Waterfront Festival will include Canada Day festivities with opening ceremonies at the Victoria Park Bandshell at noon and the annual fireworks display scheduled for 10 p.m. over the Harbour.
In Port Hope, attendees can expect traditional event components, such as the fireworks display, car show and community gathering in the park. The Canada Day Parade is also returning along the full route!
Opening ceremonies kick off at 11:00 a.m. and you can end the night off with a bang, with fireworks at dusk.
