
Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board trustees voted last month, in favour of a second French immersion program in Port Hope.
KPR District School Board Chair Steve Russell told us trustees followed the lead of the community.
Russell told us many parents think a second language is real benefit for their kids.
Russell told us staff are beginning to develop programming and details for the program.
The addition of a second French immersion program was supported by KPRDSB trustees during their regular board meeting last month in hopes of relieving anticipated enrolment pressures at Ganaraska Trail Public School.
The second program will be put in place at Beatrice Strong Public School beginning in September 2024.
