With 2023 freshly begun, we asked Northumberland-Peterborough South MP Philip Lawrence for his take on 2022.
MP Lawrence said it was a bit of a mixed bag.
Lawrence said his party continued to focus on improvements to help make life more affordable for the residents of Northumberland-Peterborough South.
Helping farmers deal with rising costs was another area that Lawrence pointed to as a win last year.
He added that his private member’s bill was picked up this session by MP Ben Lobb of Huron-Bruce and things are looking good for it becoming law.
The Fraser Institute says that governments claims their 170 dollar per tonne carbon tax, which is being phased in over 9 years, having no effect on GDP will actually see an decline of 1.8% to the GDP and the net loss of about 184,000 jobs.
