Ontario Provincial Police are warning the public about an ongoing fraud in the region.
The fraudster is contacting victims by phone, usually early in the morning claiming to be a bank employee.
Victims are identified by name and told their bank information or credit card has been compromised.
The fraudster then has requested personal information including pin numbers and passwords and directs victims to leave their card in an envelope by the front door for pickup.
You’re reminded to never give these details to anyone, and that your bank will never request this info from you.
If you or someone you know may have been the victim of a fraud, report it to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122
