It should be easier for laid-off and unemployed workers in Ontario to pursue training and start new careers thanks to changes the province’s Second Career program.
The Ford government says its aim to ensure no worker is left behind during the post pandemic economic recovery.
Effective today applying to the Second Career program will require less paperwork.
The program is increasing basic living supports for rent, mortgage and other expenses up to $500 a week. Transportation and child care supports are also being improved to reflect cost increases for those services.
