Port Hope residents were advised on Friday that the land use restrictions bordering the Ganaraska River would be lifted.
Access to municipally owned green spaces, trails, and paths along the River will be open to the public for pass-through use only, as will the municipal boat launch and access to the fish ladder.
Recreation fields and amenities, including the outdoor fitness equipment at Cavan Street Park and the Skate Park remain closed, per the Provincial Government Order. Also, conservation areas owned by the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority remain closed until further notice.
The Municipality wants like to thank residents for their patience while these municipal lands were closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
