Today in Ontario there have been 3,265 new COVID-19 cases and 29 more deaths reported. Also to note, this is the fourth straight day of Covid cases decreasing as hospital ICU’s report that patient occupancy’s have fallen slightly for the first time in 3 weeks.
Here in Northumberland Covid numbers have been relatively low with 9 cases today and 12 confirmed cases yesterday. On her Twitter account Health Minister Christine Elliott wrote “There are 1,044 new cases in Toronto, 673 in Peel, 452 in York Region, 171 in Durham and 150 in Ottawa”.
94,819 Covid-19 vaccinations were administered yesterday alone in Ontario and the Ontario Government has also said residents aged 45 years and older living in designated hot spots in the province can book their vaccine appointments as of 8 a.m. today. Child care workers that work in a licensed setting will be now eligible to book beginning Thursday also.
