
The Northumberland OPP have charged a driver after being impaired by drug.
Last Thursday (Jan 7) around 2:15 pm, OPP were alerted by concerned citizens after a SUV was being driven in an erratic manner travelling southbound on County Road 30 from the Codrington area.
The vehicle was described as being unable to travel in marked lane, almost hitting guard rails and merely missed entering a ditch.
Officers located the suspect near Highway 401 and upon officers’ interaction with the driver, it became apparent the individual was displaying signs of impairment.
The driver was arrested for impaired operation then transported to the OPP detachment in Campbellford where a Drug Recognition Evaluation (DRE) was completed.
As a result of the investigation 44-year-old Gary Bosse of Trent Hills has been charged with Operation while impaired by drugs,
He’ll face the charges at an upcoming court date in Cobourg in February.
