A one day strike is planned for Tuesday (Jan 21).
The Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association represents elementary and secondary school teachers in the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board, and OECTA (Oh Eck Tuh) says their teachers will be completely withdrawing services on Tuesday.
This means that all schools in the PVNC Catholic District School Board will be closed, and all busing to schools will be cancelled.
The reason for the closure is listed as safety in a release from the school board as they cannot provide a safe and secure environment without teachers.
