Cramahe Township is receiving $154,000 through an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant to support the first phase of improvements at Elgin Street Sport Park.
Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini announced the funding Friday, outlining plans to rehabilitate several recreational facilities at the park.
The work will include resurfacing the tennis and basketball courts, repairing and repainting the ball hockey rink, replacing basketball nets and hardware, improving fencing where required and installing new lighting.
Mayor Mandy Martin says the investment will help keep important recreational spaces accessible for residents to enjoy sports, recreation and community events.
A second phase of the rehabilitation project, estimated to cost an additional $100,000, is planned for the future.
