More than 160 trees and shrubs are being planted at Rapley Park in Port Hope following a community event Sunday, Oct. 18.
The initiative brought together volunteers, TD employees and municipal representatives through the Municipality of Port Hope’s Environmental Advisory Committee and TD Tree Days program.
Coun. Claire Holloway Wadhwani said the project supports the municipality’s climate action plan and efforts to create a “mini forest.” The trees will also help manage stormwater, support biodiversity and improve public green space.
TD Tree Days, now in its 16th year, has supported the planting of more than 590,000 trees and shrubs since 2010.
