Randy Curtis is a lifelong Cobourg resident, retired business leader and candidate for municipal council in the 2026 election. He brings more than 45 years of experience in manufacturing, sales and operations, including senior leadership positions focused on budgets, customer service, performance improvement and team management. Curtis says he wants to bring a practical, respectful and transparent approach to municipal government.
Priorities and Experience
Curtis’ priorities include responsible budgeting and clear reporting so residents can see how their tax dollars are being used. He also supports long-term planning for roads, water, parks and municipal facilities, along with thoughtful growth that protects Cobourg’s small-town character while supporting housing options and a strong local economy. He emphasizes listening to residents, working collaboratively with municipal staff and council, and making evidence-based decisions.
Curtis began his career with Energizer, eventually serving in senior roles including product manager, national sales manager and vice-president of sales and marketing. He later served as director general of Energizer Mexico, overseeing operational changes and productivity improvements. After returning to Cobourg, he operated a management consulting practice before joining Guillevin International and later Nedco. He retired in 2024.
Why Cobourg
Born and raised in Cobourg, Curtis attended local schools and was involved in skiing, sailing and sports. He says those experiences helped shape his appreciation for the town’s waterfront, recreation and community spirit.
