Caleb Carisse is a lifelong Port Hope resident running for Ward 1 councillor. He has spent 15 years working as a consultant with Accenture, including the past five as a managing director. Alongside his professional career, Carisse has been involved with local organizations, serving on the board of the Green Wood Coalition and as chair of The Rose Quest, both of which support residents facing hardship.
Priorities and Experience
Carisse says fiscal discipline and addressing Port Hope’s infrastructure gap are central priorities for his campaign. He wants council to maintain a strong focus on responsible municipal finances while dealing with infrastructure needs facing the community.
He also wants a municipal council that he says genuinely represents residents and is focused on economic development. Carisse identifies the proposed Wesleyville project and the long-term future of the Port Hope Area Initiative as issues where he wants Port Hope to have a meaningful seat at the table.
His professional experience in consulting and senior management, combined with his involvement with local charitable organizations, forms the foundation of his approach to municipal service. Carisse says he wants to bring strategic leadership while remaining grounded in the values of the community where he was raised.
Why Port Hope
As a lifelong Port Hope resident, Carisse says his connection to the community extends beyond his professional life. His volunteer work with local organizations has given him opportunities to work directly with residents facing challenges and strengthened his desire to contribute to Port Hope’s future.
