Even if you’re not a big hockey fan, it’s hard not to get caught up in the buzz surrounding the Brighton Vikings.
The Vikings, the newest addition to the GMHL (Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League), already have back-to-back inaugural wins under their belt and are heading into their second weekend of home games.
Carlos Verde is the Director of PR and Social Media for the team, and he is excited to take his years of hockey expertise and channel it into this exciting, fledgling team.
As Verde points out, Coach Sicard brings extensive experience, strong leadership and a proven commitment to player development. He has built competitive and disciplined teams while earning respect throughout the hockey community for his ability to develop players and get the most out of his teams.
The talent that will hit the ice this year is what makes Verde so optimistic about the kind of season we can expect. He says there is a real cross-section of local and international players who are sure to deliver above and beyond expectations.
Carlos is really optimistic about this weekend’s hometown debut, predicting that between 20 and 25 Viking goals will light up the scoreboard, and that trend could become what fans can expect all season.
King Edward Park Arena is the place to be this weekend as the Vikings face the Toronto Flyers on Saturday, followed by a matchup against the Durham Road Runners on Sunday.
Go Vikings, Go!
