Cobourg residents and visitors should expect several road and parking closures this weekend as the town hosts its annual marina boat lift-out and the Downtown Business Improvement Area’s Harvest Festival.
The marina operation will close the Cobourg Marina parking lot and Division Street south of The Esplanade. Hibernia and Third streets will remain open but delays are expected. The Esplanade and its east and west parking lots will be closed from 7 a.m. Sept. 30 until 5 p.m. Oct. 4.
Pedestrian access will also be restricted in areas where heavy equipment is operating.
Meanwhile, Harvest Festival activities Saturday will include live music, vendors, food trucks, animals and photo opportunities. The Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre’s Walk A Mile event is also taking place.
Road closures for the downtown events run from 7:30 a.m. Saturday until 7:30 a.m. Sunday, affecting sections of Second, Third, George and King West streets.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and follow posted signs. Local businesses will remain open.
