Northumberland County has been recognized by Ontario’s Information and Privacy Commissioner for its Performance Dashboard, which makes municipal performance information more accessible to residents.
The dashboard was featured in the IPC’s 2026 Transparency Challenge, highlighting projects that promote government transparency, open data and public access to information.
Launched in 2024, the dashboard tracks 45 priorities from the county’s 2023-2027 Community Strategic Plan and is updated quarterly. It explains results, identifies areas that are off track and outlines steps being taken to address them.
Warden Bob Crate said the recognition reinforces the county’s commitment to making government information accessible and useful to residents. IPC Commissioner Patricia Kosseim said the dashboard helps residents track municipal progress and better understand how local decisions and services affect their daily lives.
