Port Hope’s annual salmon migration was celebrated Sunday during the fifth annual “Run Salmon Run” community event along the Ganaraska River.
The free event brought artists, educators, performers, residents and visitors together from Ontario Street to the footbridge. The Walton Street bridge was closed to traffic, allowing people to explore artwork, demonstrations, educational displays and food offerings.
The event featured representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, along with local artists and other activities. Fundraising also supported the local food bank.
