Wednesday: Starting at 2 p.m., And No Birds Sang brings Farley Mowat’s acclaimed Second World War memoir to the stage in a world-premiere production, following his experience as a young soldier with the Hastings Prince Edward Regiment and the devastating realities of combat. Featuring live music and Foley sound, it’s a moving reflection on war, loss, and the sacrifices made by members of the community at the Cameco Capitol Arts Centre, 20 Queen Street in Port Hope.
Wednesday: Starting at 5:30 p.m., Dive the North gives certified divers a chance to explore the historic P.B. Locke shipwreck beneath Lake Ontario, while learning more about the area’s maritime history and underwater heritage. It’s a unique opportunity to experience one of Port Hope’s lesser-known historical sites from a completely different perspective at the Port Hope beach.
Thursday: Starting at 8:30 a.m., Summer Nature Nuts Day Camp gives kids a full day of outdoor adventure, hands-on activities, and opportunities to explore the natural world while making new friends. The week’s “All Creatures Great and Small” theme is perfect for curious campers who love animals, nature, and spending time outside at the Ganaraska Millennium Conservation Area in Port Hope.
Thursday: Starting at 2 p.m., Gaslight is a gripping psychological thriller that follows Bella Manningham as she begins to question her own sanity when strange sounds and unexplained changes in the gaslights fill her home. This classic tale of deception and manipulation makes for an intriguing afternoon of live theatre at the Cameco Capitol Arts Centre, 20 Queen Street in Port Hope.
