The Concert Band of Cobourg has wrapped up another summer of outdoor performances in Victoria Park, closing the season Tuesday night with a concert shaped by requests from the audience.
The Sept. 1 performance featured a variety of selections requested by concertgoers over the course of the summer, offering a final showcase of the music that has drawn crowds to the park throughout the season.
For several months, Victoria Park has provided the backdrop for weekly evenings of live music, with residents and visitors gathering with lawn chairs, family and friends to enjoy performances beneath the summer sky.
The final concert offered one more chance for the community to take part in the tradition before shorter evenings and cooler temperatures signal the arrival of fall.
Organizers say the audience-requested program provided a fitting conclusion to the summer series, reflecting the wide range of music enjoyed by those who attended throughout the season.
With Tuesday’s final notes, the Concert Band of Cobourg’s summer concerts in Victoria Park have come to an end, bringing another season of community music to a close.
