The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is inviting residents to an evening of personal stories, support and fundraising for local breast cancer care.
“Stronger Together: Stay Abreast” is scheduled for Oct. 7 at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, running from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event is being held in partnership with Survivor Thrivers and will feature local people sharing their experiences with breast cancer, including diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
Healthcare and wellness professionals will provide information about breast health services, resources and support available to patients and families.
Proceeds will support modernization of the breast health program at Northumberland Hills Hospital and help Survivor Thrivers purchase a new dragon boat for its team of local residents living with breast cancer.
The hospital foundation says investments could support equipment including a new 3D mammography unit, ultrasound machine and other breast health technology.
Tickets are $55 and available through the Capitol Theatre.
