Nominations have now closed for the October municipal election, with voters in Cobourg and Port Hope set to choose their next mayors and municipal councils.
The official certified candidate lists are expected to be released following the nomination process. Based on the candidate information currently available, both municipalities have several candidates seeking their respective mayoral positions.
Cobourg Mayor
The current unofficial list of candidates seeking the mayor’s chair in Cobourg includes:

- Max LeMarchant
- Lucas Cleveland
Deputy Mayor
Two candidates have filed to run for Cobourg’s deputy mayor position, with one candidate to be elected:

The municipality says its final certified list of candidates is to be published by 4 p.m. on Monday, August 24.
