Ontario Street is closed following a collision involving a transport truck that brought down power lines and damaged hydro poles.
Emergency crews responded after reports the transport truck struck a tree along Ontario Street, causing multiple power lines to fall across the roadway between Dale Road and Danforth Road.
Firefighters and the Ontario Provincial Police are at the scene, while Hydro One has been notified and is expected to carry out repairs.
It’s not yet known how long the road closure will remain in effect or when power can be restored to affected customers.
Officials have not said how many homes or businesses are without electricity. Residents experiencing outages are encouraged to report them directly to Hydro One.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area until the road reopens.
