Restoration work on the iconic Victoria Hall clock tower in downtown Cobourg is set to begin next month.
The Town of Cobourg’s Corporate Services Division says scaffolding will soon surround the clock tower as crews complete painting and general maintenance work.
The project is expected to begin during the first week of August and continue through mid-October.
The town says this type of maintenance is required every 10 to 15 years to help preserve the landmark.
The work is being funded through the town’s 2026 capital budget. The Victoria Hall Maintenance Trust group is contributing to repairs to the bell cradle.
The town is thanking residents and visitors for their patience as the restoration work takes place.
