A 25-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges after an alleged impaired driving collision in the Municipality of Trent Hills.
Northumberland OPP say officers responded to a report of a pickup truck that had struck a tree on Centennial Lane shortly after 6 p.m. on July 18.
When police arrived, the vehicle was unoccupied. Investigators determined the driver had gone to a nearby waterfront and left the area on a personal watercraft.
Officers later located the suspect after receiving reports of a pedestrian yelling at members of the public on another roadway.
Paramedics attended the scene as a precaution, but no serious injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with two counts each of operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit. He is also charged with dangerous operation, failing to remain at the scene of a collision and failing to report property damage.
Foster is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.
His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
